King Arthur and Guinevere were two of my favorite characters as a young adult. The Camelot story was actually woven into my marriage ceremony oh so long ago. Deeper images and meaning has been seeping into my dreamworld.
The idea of the Knights of Templar and the round table concept is front and center again. What happened around the table? It was round so that none of the barons could claim precedence over the others. Smart move. Only the most valiant were admitted to the fellowship of the Round Table.
As the legend unfolded through history, the round table was associated with the Grail table. It evolved that Merlin left an empty space for King Arthur’s father. And so it went.
In current culture the table represents a portal/open space where gatherings occur. Conference tables, kitchen tables, picnic tables, tables for gaming and other configurations become a petri-dish for possibilities.
In my recent dream I saw the round table as a vortex rebirther cauldron where the table is seated by equal numbers of sacred masculine and feminine avatars. A golden goblet is at the center of the table waiting for divine communion. It was as if the act of rebalance was in motion. At one point in the dream the table began spinning and rising upward.
I awoke with the sense of re-claiming the mystical threads of balance and rebalance. It feels good to re-weave the ancient story into the evolving NOW.
