Beautiful autumn sunshine on an auspicious day in the Texas hill country where the eclipse was visible to all. Unusual for our village to be collectively observing a cyclical pattern with interest and acclamations of awe. Gatherings at the public library, at Old Town on 7A, from decks and high places, we all looked up!
The moon further away than the sun allowed the ring of fire to blaze. It was as if the heavens were sending a vibrant message about coming together, gathering and sharing from a depth layered with symbols. A convergence of sorts without boundaries separating the community. A sign of hope stirred among us. A blessing from on high resonated that it is indeed, time to look up.
